THE FOREST - WAR AND CONFLICT
Few areas can have the association with things military over such as sustained period of time  as Ashdown Forest.  For 2000 years it has been home to armies, a site for weapons manufacture and a place of testament to conflict and threat, at local, national and international level. This exhibition, containing documents and artefacts, is a fascinating review of this aspect of Forest history.

'STITCH n BITCH' You may not know it but 2009 will be the Year of the Sustainable Fibre! - To get in gear for what could be an important set of events for Heathland Hebridean wool etc the Forest Centre Ladies have arranged a monthly 'Stitch n Bitch'. For those who do not know - these sessions take place in hundreds of venues across the UK and any one can come along with whatever fabric or wool handicraft that is 'on the go'.   We hope that you can join us - it could be lonely in the barn otherwise! Tea is 20p in the donation tin please! Click here for the poster.
