We are excited to announce the opening of a new café space at the Ashdown Forest Visitors Centre.

With thanks from funding provided by The Ashdown Forest Foundation (the ‘Foundation’), we have been able to upgrade our coffee and cake offering just in time for the summer of 2024.

We have enjoyed receiving your feedback so far on our fresh traybakes and cookie selections and are keen to take on board more suggestions! The millionaire’s shortbread has been a particular hit …

Not only are we on a mission to provide delicious coffee and hearty bakes to our visitors, but also to ensure that we place sustainability at the forefront of this project. That’s why we have chosen to combine full flavour with sustainability, and only source Fairtrade beans.

Enjoy your visit in our upholstered indoor space or relax in the sun in our outdoor picnic area.

Our cups are fully compostable, our team welcoming, and sales from the Visitors Centre contribute greatly to conserving Ashdown Forest for the future.

As we continue to welcome you into our Information Barn – an authentic 1750s threshing barn – this summer, for a caffeinated beverage or a creamy hot chocolate, we also look forward to developing our café in the future.

Why not pop in for a chat and a cuppa?

Where to find us: Colemans Hatch Road, Wych Cross, East Sussex, RH18 5JP.

We are open Monday-Friday, from 10am to 4.30pm.

(Please check our website for weekend opening hours, as these are subject to our volunteer’s availability: https://ashdownforest.org/news/). Interested in volunteering with us this summer? Check out our website’s ‘Donate and Join’ page now, where you can download an application form.
