Each session will include a walk to look for wildlife, a craft activity and games. Every session you attend you will receive a stamp on a unique wildlife bookmark. How many stamps can you collect over the summer? Morning sessions are 10am to midday. Afternoon sessions are 2pm to 4pm. Here is the full line-up of events. Tickets cost £5.80 per child and can be booked via our Eventbrite page. Wednesday 26th July Morning: Beetles – Tigers, ladybirds and dung Afternoon: Nightjars – the masters of camouflage
Wednesday 2nd August Morning: Dragonflies and Damselflies – aerial hunters Afternoon: Nocturnal animals, bats, badgers and owls
Wednesday 9th August Morning: Spiders and other mini-beasts Afternoon: Sundews – insect-eating plants
Wednesday 16th August Morning: Bees and wasps Afternoon: Deer and other mammals
Wednesday 23rd August Morning: Trees – nature’s lungs Afternoon: Raptors, Buzzards, Kites, Hobbys and Kestrels
Wednesday 30th August THIS SESSION >>> Morning: Grasshoppers and crickets Afternoon: Adders and lizards
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Accompanying adults are free of charge. Just book tickets for the children you are bringing. Bring a packed lunch and stay and enjoy the Forest before or after your session of choice. These events are most suitable for children between 5 years to 11 years. Please wear long trousers and stout shoes even if it is hot as this will help protect you from scratches, stings and ticks. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting muddy! Car parking is included in the ticket price. Please park in the Forest Centre car park. Sorry, no dogs at this event please as we will be located in the education area. In the event of bad weather, the event will still go ahead as we will have access to the Education Barn at the Visitor Centre. We will still go for a walk so please bring wet weather clothing. Tickets cost £5.80 per child and can be booked via our Eventbrite page. |
