Join the Ashdown Forest Warden and Ranger on an evening guided walk from the Ashdown Forest Centre to learn more about the Nightjars and how you can help us protect them before they begin their long journey back to Africa. If we are very lucky, we may come across some other nocturnal wildlife during our walk too.
Please be aware that wildlife is unpredictable, and we can’t guarantee that you will see Nightjars on the night.
The evening will last for approximately two hours, with a walk of around half an hour to a viewing point and back. As with any walk on Ashdown Forest there will be some gentle hills and uneven ground so sturdy footwear is a must.
There is a route option for wheelchair users, but please be aware you will encounter uneven ground. Please contact us for more details ([email protected] or 01342 823583).
This walk is free of charge and there is no need to book, just turn up on the night. Unfortunately, this event is not suitable for dogs due to the Nightjar’s sensitive nature.
