Nightjar Experience

Each summer the forest welcomes back the Nightjar from its wintering grounds in Africa. This heathland specialist bird, which comes here to breed, puts on a remarkable display at dusk to attract a mate. Following a brief introductory presentation to set the scene and some locally made refreshments we will head out in search of this charismatic bird of twilight.
